Mesa, AZ – Four people were transported to a hospital after a Tuesday evening accident that happened near an intersection in Mesa, the Mesa Police Department reported.
The accident was reported near Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue on Tuesday, January 27.
According to the investigators, multiple vehicles were involved in the crash and at least two of them sustained serious front-end damage due to the impact of the collision. The circumstances under which the vehicles crashed were not immediately established.
Fire crews extricated a person who was trapped in one of the vehicles. The person was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Three other patients were also transported with injuries of unknown severity.
Roads were temporarily shut down as authorities worked to determine the cause of the accident. The crash remained under investigation by the Mesa Police Department.
