Oakland, CA. – 47-year-old Maurice Senegal from San Francisco died in a traffic collision that took place Sunday morning at an intersection in Oakland.
The deadly crash was reported around 8:43 a.m. at Linden Street and West Grand Avenue.
According to Oakland police, Senegal was driving a Volvo sedan heading north on Linden Street.
The driver reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Mitsubishi Montero SUV traveling eastbound West Grand Avenue.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Senegal to the hospital for treatment. The man died later while receiving treatment.
The driver of the SUV, an Oakland man, did not suffer injuries. He stopped and remained at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.

Oakland, CA. – A 47-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday morning at an intersection in Oakland.
According to Oakland police, the wreck occurred around 8:43 a.m. at Linden Street and West Grand Avenue.
Police said the man was driving a Volvo sedan northbound on Linden Street when he reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Mitsubishi Montero SUV heading eastbound on West Grand Avenue.
The man was rushed to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Oakland man driving the SUV was not hurt.
Police officers are investigating to determine the factors that contributed to the accident.
