Villalvazo was driving a Lexus northbound on southbound Highway 33 at a high rate of speed when he collided head-on with an oncoming Honda Sedan driven by Mendez

Fresno County, CA.- The two people who were killed in a crash involving a wrong-way motorist in Fresno County on Sunday night have been identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as Mark Villalvazo, 32, and Julio Mendez, 24, both of Coalinga.
The wreck took place at about 8:40 p.m. January 12, on Highway 33, just south of Highway 198.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Villalvazo was driving a Lexus northbound on southbound Highway 33 at a high rate of speed when he collided head-on with an oncoming Honda Sedan driven by Mendez.
Mendez was ejected by the impact of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Lexus burst into flames after the crash and Villalvazo was trapped inside.
Villalvazo was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
