Maricopa County, AZ – One person was killed in an incident where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian early Tuesday morning in Maricopa County.
According to the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office, the deadly incident occurred on 107th Avenue and Maricopa Road at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14.
Authorities reported that a driver contacted the MCSO after he was involved in a crash with a pedestrian. The manner in which the collision happened was yet to be determined.
Deputies responded to the incident within minutes and located an unresponsive victim at the scene.
The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved was cooperative with investigators.
Roads were expected to be shut down as authorities worked at the scene. The cause of the deadly collision is ongoing and further details are expected to be released.
