A car struck a pedestrian in the area in unclear circumstances.
The Palm Springs Fire Department attempted live-saving measures but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver remained at the scene and participated with the investigations.
