Armando Gutierrez and his friends were walking within the 4100 block of Oceanside Boulevard when a vehicle crashed into them
Oceanside, CA. – A 21-year-old man who was killed in a pedestrian crash that also left two other pedestrians hospitalized Sunday evening in Oceanside has been identified as Armando Gutierrez of Escondido.
Authorities responded to the wreck at around 7:38 p.m. on April 14 on Oceanside Boulevard at Collee Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Gutierrez was walking with friends within the 4100 block of Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside.
The three were crossing the street when Gutierrez and one friend were struck by an unspecified vehicle traveling eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard. One other pedestrian was also injured in the incident.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and contacted 911.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the injured pedestrians.
Gutierrez was transported to Tri-City Medical Center Emergency Department where he was evaluated and was being prepared to be airlifted to another hospital for a higher level of care when he succumbed to his injuries.
The other two patients – a 24-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman – were transported to Palomar Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Oceanside, CA – Several pedestrians were injured in a collision in Oceanside on Sunday night, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
The incident happened at 4141 Oceanside Boulevard at about 7:38 p.m.
A vehicle reportedly collided with multiple pedestrians under unclear circumstances.
Three pedestrians were transported to the hospital. One of them had critical injuries while the other two sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
No further details were released.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
