The impact ejected the bicyclist, who landed on the north shoulder of the roadway

Merced, CA. – A bicyclist died after being struck by a car on Thursday night in Merced.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:20 p.m. on Bloss Avenue, east of Golf Link Road.
A 60-year-old Hilmar man was riding a bicycle westbound on Bloss Avenue when he was struck by a 2015 Infiniti Q50 that was traveling westbound.
The impact ejected the bicyclist, who landed on the north shoulder of the roadway.
The man was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the car, a 16-year-old from Stevinson, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
