The CHP reported that a 34-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Blazer on Boyd Road when he went into the path of an oncoming Freightliner
Imperial County, CA.- A man was killed in a big rig collision in Imperial County on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Boyd Road near State Route 115 at around 9:42 a.m. February 13.
The CHP reported that a 34-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Blazer on Boyd Road when he went into the path of an oncoming Freightliner.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection and both rolled over.
According to CHP, the Chevrolet driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver, a 62-year-old man, was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The operator of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
