San Diego, CA. – A man died in a suspected DUI collision that happened early Saturday morning near an intersection in San Diego's East Village neighborhood.
According to police, the wreck took place around 3:20 a.m. near 17th Street and C Street.
A 42-year-old man was driving a car south near the intersection when a 21-year-old man entered the intersection heading east on C Street and broadsided the older man's vehicle.
The 42-year-old man was extricated by responding firefighters and rushed to the hospital. The victim later died while receiving treatment.
The 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
