Bakersfield, CA – A 61-year-old man was killed in a DUI crash on Interstate 5 in Bakersfield late Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on November 8, 2025, at around 11:10 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway, north of Templin Highway.
Investigators said a silver Toyota Camry driven by Martin Enrique Cazares,21, of Wasco, was driving under DUI when he collided with a white Jeep Cherokee driven by the deceased.
The male driver of the Cherokee was ejected from his vehicle and was declared dead at the crash site.
Cazares was booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station in Santa Clarita for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
The name of the deceased was not immediately released.
The incident remains under investigation.
