According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 6:48 p.m. on the southbound State Route 101 just south of Somavia Road.
Reportedly, a white big rig struck nearly head-on a grey Honda sedan in unclear circumstances.
At least one person was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries.
More details regarding the mishap were not provided.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
