Sylmar, CA. – At least one person was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident that happened Wednesday morning in Sylmar, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 8:17 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 5 at the Interstate 405 split.
A black Honda Accord and a motorcycle were involved in the crash. The vehicles were blocking the HOV lane after the crash.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
At least one person was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The HOV and the No. 1 lanes were closed following the crash. All lanes were back open at about 8:49 a.m.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
Another collision involving a single car happened in the same area Tuesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and 8 acres of vegetation burned.
