Two-Vehicle Collision on SR-242 in Pleasant Hill Results in Major Injuries

Pleasant Hill, CA. – At least one person suffered major injuries in a car accident that happened Tuesday evening in Pleasant Hill, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 6:23 p.m. on southbound State Route 242 just north of the Gregory Lane off-ramp.

Two vehicles collided, both of them ending up in a ditch. One of the cars reportedly hit a tree.

Contra Costa County firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and helped at least one person who suffered major injuries.

All lanes of southbound SR-242 at Clayton Road were shut down for an unknown period following the collision.

CHP officers are investigating the crash.
