According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. on the southbound 880 Freeway, just north of the Thornton Avenue off-ramp.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a dark-colored sedan were involved in the accident.
At least one person was seriously injured in the accident. The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
