Woman Dies, Man Hurt in Single-Car Crash on Woodruff Lane in Marysville

Yuba County, CA. – A 58-year-old woman died, and a 61-year-old man was hospitalized after a car collision that happened Friday afternoon in Yuba County.

The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. on Woodruff Lane east of Armstrong Road, more than six miles north of Marysville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a silver Mercedes E-350 at a high rate of speed when the car went airborne after crossing railroad tracks.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete bridge rail west of the tracks.

The woman, a resident of Newark and the man’s wife, died in the crash.

The man was hospitalized in unknown condition.

According to CHP, the speed limit for the railroad track crossing is 5 mph, and that for Woodruff Lane is 55 mph.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
