Bakersfield, CA – A woman was injured when a vehicle crashed into an apartment complex in East Bakersfield early Saturday morning.
According to the authorities, the incident took place in the 1900 block of Gage Street on October 4.
Thomas David Gonzales Jr., 22, was reportedly driving in the area when he lost control and crashed into the home, hitting a woman inside.
The struck woman, identified as Madison Leeann Desrochers, was treated for minor to moderate injuries.
The crash caused major structural damage to the building.
According to the report, Gonzales fled the scene after the accident but a neighbor, who witnessed the accident, followed him and contacted the authorities.
Gonzales was arrested shortly after and booked into Lerdo Jail on charges of DUI causing injury and hit-and-run.
His bail was set at $420,000.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
