The male driver of one of the vehicles received lifesaving aid but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Madera County, CA – A man was killed and another person was injured Sunday evening when two vehicles collided at an intersection in Madera County.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:03 p.m. on October 4 at Avenue 15 and Road 28 1/2.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was traveling westbound on Avenue 15 when his vehicle was struck at the intersection. One vehicle was found overturned after the crash. A white Nissan Altima sustained major front-end damage, while a white SUV also suffered major damage. A brick wall and a rod-iron fence were damaged in the crash, but a nearby house was not hit.

A passenger in the victim’s vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment. The passenger was identified as Jamie Hernandez, although the extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
A 32-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the crash on suspicion of driving under the influence. His identity was not released.
All lanes were blocked while the crash was investigated, and both damaged vehicles were later removed for evidence.
The cause and circumstances of the fatal collision remain under investigation.
