Madera, CA – Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at a Madera intersection on Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The collision was reported at about 6:45 p.m. on December 19, on East Kennedy and Tulare streets.
According to Madera police, a vehicle struck a woman near the intersection under unclear circumstances.
Police and firefighters responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the pedestrian. Despite their efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The pedestrian’s name was not immediately released.
The driver who struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigators. Police reported that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the incident.
