Preliminary reports indicate that a driver in a minivan was heading east on 164th Street SW when he struck two pedestrians and crashed into a tree

Lynnwood, WA – Four people were hospitalized with major injuries after a vehicle struck two pedestrians and slammed into a tree in Lynnwood on Friday night.
According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred in the 1400 block of 164th Street SW at around 7:32 p.m. on June 26.
Preliminary reports indicate that a driver in a minivan was heading east on 164th Street SW when he struck two pedestrians and crashed into a tree. Authorities reported that the driver is believed to have had a medical emergency just prior to the accident.
Medics transported a female pedestrian and a woman riding as a passenger in the vehicle to Harborview Medical Center. The 60-year-old pedestrian was critically hurt while the passenger had serious injuries.
The male driver and a 60-year-old male pedestrian were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The accident led to the closure of 164th Street SW for hours as authorities investigated the accident. The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
