Lucerne Valley, CA – One person was killed, and another was injured after two vehicles collided on Highway 247 in Lucerne Valley Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred at around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, on Highway 247, also known as Old Woman Springs Road, near the area of Stony Ridge Road and Old Victor Road.
Preliminary investigation findings indicate that a black Tesla sedan and a semi-truck hauling dry cement were traveling on the highway in opposite directions when, for an unknown reason, one of the vehicles crossed the center line and collided head-on into the other.
The driver of the Tesla sedan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger of the Tesla sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.
The cause of the crash is currently being investigated, with preliminary reports indicating that the factors leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
San Bernardino County Fire and California Highway Patrol personnel responded to the location to perform a heavy rescue operation, extricate the driver, and conduct the initial on-scene investigation.
The impact of the crash caused temporary disruptions in the area of Stony Ridge Road and Old Victor Road while crews managed the scene and the vehicles.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
