Los Angeles, CA – A 2-year-old child was critically injured, and two adults were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash near Lynwood on Saturday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 103rd Street and Alameda Street, near Lynwood.

Police said one vehicle was making a left turn from Alameda Street onto 103rd Street when it was struck broadside by a southbound vehicle traveling on Alameda Street.

The 2-year-old suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital. Investigators said the child was unconscious at one point before being revived by emergency responders.

Two adults also sustained moderate injuries in the collision and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage as a result of the crash.

Investigators believe speed may have contributed to the collision, although it remains unclear which driver was at fault.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
