Playa Del Rey, CA – One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Playa Del Rey on Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. near the intersection of Vista Del Mar and West Imperial Highway, close to Los Angeles International Airport, and involved a Honda SUV and a Los Angeles County street-sweeping truck.
Authorities reported that the Public Works street-sweeping truck was traveling southbound on Vista Del Mar along its scheduled route when it was struck head-on by a northbound Honda SUV.
At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and it is unclear whether any additional injuries or arrests were reported.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to assist and secure the area following the fatal collision.
The crash caused traffic disruptions near the busy airport corridor as authorities worked to clear the wreckage.
The incident remains under investigation.
