Los Angeles, CA – An investigation is underway into an accident that left a pedestrian deceased in the Calabasas-Agoura Hills area early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on the Ventura (101) Freeway at Lost Hills Road shortly before 6 a.m. on February 23.
A preliminary investigation shows that a person was hit by a semi-truck in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Authorities were still trying to figure out how and why the pedestrian was struck.
Due to the accident, multiple lanes were shut down as CHP and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that the pedestrian was killed in the accident. Identification details on the deceased party were not immediately released.
The semi-truck driver remained at the scene after the collision.
