Medical Examiner Identifies Motorcyclist Killed in Los Angeles Crash in Central-Alameda

Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist who died Sunday afternoon in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of Los Angeles as 20-year-old Ernesto Fontes.

Fontes died at a hospital where he was transported for treatment after being ejected from his motorcycle when the bike collided with a car around 4:30 p.m. on April 12 at East 53rd Street and Compton Avenue.

Los Angeles police and firefighters responded to the area after they received reports of the crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Fontes was riding a motorcycle southbound on Compton Avenue, and a car was heading eastbound on 53rd Street when the collision occurred.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the cause of the accident.
