Los Angeles, CA – The authorities have released the identity of a person who was killed in a head-on collision on Harbor Freeway in South Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased party as 76-year-old Edmund Davis.
Investigators said a gray Honda Civic, operated by Davis, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a gray Nissan Murano. Davis was killed in the crash.
A second person was hospitalized in unknown condition.

Los Angeles, CA – One person was killed, and another was hospitalized after a wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision on the Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:11 a.m. on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway between Slauson Avenue and Vernon Avenue.
CHP dispatch logs indicate a gray Honda Civic was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a gray Nissan Murano. The impact blocked multiple freeway lanes and prompted an immediate emergency response.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was injured and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved or the condition of the injured victim.
The collision forced officials to divert southbound traffic at Vernon Avenue and then expand the closure to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A SigAlert was issued at approximately 10:53 a.m., and all southbound lanes remained closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene and tow crews removed the damaged vehicles.
