Preliminary reports indicate that a 61-year-old man was walking in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle.
Los Angeles, CA – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian collision that took place early Monday morning in South Los Angeles.
According to the California Higwhay Patrol, the accident transpired at around 3:45 a.m. August 3, on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway west of Vermont Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 61-year-old man was walking in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the accident.
The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. He was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Keith Williams, 61.
All lanes were temporarily shut down as a result of the collision.
