Authorities said preliminary findings indicate the teenage male pedestrian was crossing South Street within a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle driven by an adult male.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the boy to a local hospital. Police said he sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his upper body.
The driver remained at the scene, and no arrests were reported. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
