Lompoc, CA – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 1 in Lompoc Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on SR-1 in an area between Sunburst and Jalama Road at approximately 8:49 p.m. on April 11.
Preliminary reports indicate the crash began when a red Toyota Camry struck a deer. A second vehicle, identified as a red Toyota RAV4, was then involved and may have rolled onto its side before landing back on its wheels. Authorities also noted the possibility of a third vehicle being involved after another car reportedly struck the reporting party’s vehicle.
Two were transported to Lompoc Hospital with complaints of pain.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and worked to move vehicles to the right-hand side of the roadway. Two services were requested for multiple damaged vehicles, including one SUV with rollover damage.
The crash caused disruptions along SR-1 as crews cleared the scene and assisted those involved.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
