Linda Hancock Hurt in Susanville Crash on State Route 139 near Termo Grasshopper Road

Susanville, California (October 9, 2022) – Linda Hancock, 73, of Reno, Nevada, was injured in a multi-vehicle collision on State Route 139 in Susanville on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened nearly five miles south of Termo Grasshopper Road at about 8:13 a.m. October 7.

CHP said Brian Madison, 59, of Portland, Oregon, was driving southbound on SR 139 when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by David East, 68, of Loleta.

Hancock was driving behind East and ended up crashing into his vehicle’s rear.

CHP said Hancock suffered a possible broken arm or wrist and was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville.

Madison had chest pain and multiple cuts and was flown to a Reno medical center.

East was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding with cuts and possible broken bones.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
