Bias was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash but later died from his injuries

Lane County, OR. – Two people who were killed in a head-on collision involving a Toyota 4Runner and a commercial vehicle on Highway 58 in Lane County Wednesday evening have been identified, according to Oregon State Police.
The Oregon State Police (OSP) identified the victims as Marjorie Rae Spence, 40, of Eugene and by Colton Zachary Bias, 25, of Springfield
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:56 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, on Highway 58 near Oakridge.
According to the preliminary investigation, a westbound red Toyota 4Runner, operated by 25- Colton Bias, entered the eastbound lane for an unknown reason and collided head-on with a white Mack commercial motor vehicle traveling eastbound. The Mack was operated by 60-year-old Collin Mitchell Owens of Springfield.
A passenger in the Toyota, identified Marjorie Spence, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Bias was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash but later died from his injuries. Another passenger in the 4Runner, 38-year-old Kaylee Dail Cardwell of Westfir, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Highway 58 was impacted for approximately four hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
