Lake Forest, CA – Two people were killed and a 7-year-old girl was hospitalized following a wrong-way collision on the 241 Toll Road in Lake Forest Thursday night, according to a local news source.
The deceased were identified as 57-year-old Norma Herrera of Irvine and 39-year-old Joseph Kyle Massey of Rancho Santa Margarita.

According to CHP, Herrera was driving a Honda SUV northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided with a BMW sedan occupied by Massey and the young girl.
Both drivers died in the crash, while the girl, who was riding in the BMW’s passenger seat, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities did not release information about the extent of her injuries or her condition.
The circumstances that led to the Honda traveling against traffic remain unclear. Investigators are also working to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the deadly wrong-way crash.
