According to the authorities, Wong was in the crosswalk walking west across Broadway when she was hit by a box truck that was turning onto southbound Broadway from Eighth Street
Oakland, CA. – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in downtown Oakland on Thursday morning has been identified as Lai King Wong, 90, according to the coroner's bureau.
The incident took place on Broadway and Eighth Street at around 8:45 a.m. September 11.
According to the authorities, Wong was in the crosswalk walking west across Broadway when she was hit by a box truck that was turning onto southbound Broadway from Eighth Street.
Wong was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the box truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident is under investigation.
