Oakland, CA. – Authorities are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left 32-year-old Katunga Manuel-Nunn with life-threatening injuries on Friday night in East Oakland.
The collision occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Weld Street, where a silver sedan struck Manuel-Nunn as he was riding his bicycle and then fled the scene.
Surveillance video from a nearby liquor store captured the moment the speeding car clipped the bicyclist in the bike lane, throwing him to the ground.
Witnesses rushed to help before emergency crews arrived.
Manuel-Nunn was transported to a hospital and remains in the intensive care unit with a traumatic brain injury and other serious injuries.
