Ramona, CA – The County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a woman who was struck while riding a motorized mobility along State Route 67 in Ramona.

The Medical Examiner identified the deceased woman as Kathleen Bonie Mess, a 76-year-old resident of Ramona.

Mess was operating her motorized mobility scooter on State Route 67 when she was struck from behind by a vehicle.

She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Ramona, CA – A 76-year-old woman died after being struck by a car as she rode a mobility scooter in Ramona on Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:57 a.m. on Main Street and Julian Street.

The woman was riding a three-wheel mobility scooter northbound on Main Street in low-lighting conditions when she was struck by a car.

The woman was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, of , CA, was not hurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
