Ramona, CA – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a woman who was struck while riding a motorized mobility scooter along State Route 67 in Ramona.
The Medical Examiner identified the deceased woman as Kathleen Bonie Mess, a 76-year-old resident of Ramona.
Mess was operating her motorized mobility scooter on State Route 67 when she was struck from behind by a vehicle.
She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Ramona, CA – A 76-year-old woman died after being struck by a car as she rode a mobility scooter in Ramona on Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:57 a.m. on Main Street and Julian Street.
The woman was riding a three-wheel mobility scooter northbound on Main Street in low-lighting conditions when she was struck by a car.
The woman was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, of Santa Maria, CA, was not hurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
