Jurupa Valley, CA – Injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley on Tuesday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision that occurred on the westbound freeway, just east of Rubidoux Boulevard at around 8:29 a.m. December 30.
Through investigation, CHP learned that a tow truck driver was slowing down to tow a stalled vehicle in the slow lane when they crashed into a big rig. This caused a chain-reaction involving a Subaru SUV and a Honda Civic.
The front of the tow truck became pinned under the big rig after the collision. The driver of the tow truck was able to exit the vehicle.
Multiple parties involved in the incident sustained minor injuries. There were no transports to hospital for further treatment.
Debris from the collision struck several vehicles passing by. No one in those vehicles was hurt but the vehicles were damaged.
The westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway were shut down as crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
