The rider was ejected from the bike and was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he died

San Diego, CA – 43-year-old Julio Cesar Perez Jr. has been identified as the motorcyclist who died after colliding with a car Saturday afternoon in the Otay Mesa West neighborhood of San Diego.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 5:05 p.m. on August 8, at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Norstad Avenue.
Investigators said the man was riding a motorcycle southbound on Norstad Avenue when he ran a red light at Palm Avenue and was hit by a 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Palm.
Perez Jr. was ejected from the bike and was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he died while receiving treatment.
More details on the accident were not available.
Authorities do not believe impairment was a contributing factor.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
