Marion County, OR – One person was killed and two others were injured on Monday in a single-vehicle accident in North Marion County, outside of Gervais, according to the deputies.

Deputies said Wilfrido Giron-Cortes Jr., 33, of Woodburn, was driving a black Ford Ranger pickup when the vehicle rolled over.
A passenger in the vehicle, Juan Garibo, 27, of Salem, was airlifted to Salem Hospital, where they later died. Another victim sustained a broken neck, and a third sustained a leg injury.
Investigators determined Giron-Cortes had been drinking alcohol before the accident. His blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit, and multiple open containers of alcohol were found inside the vehicle. He was arrested on Thursday, October 2, 2025. on the following charges; Manslaughter I, Assault II, Assault IV, DUII, Recklessly Endangering, and Reckless Driving. He was scheduled to be arraigned at the Marion County Court Annex on October 3, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
