Oceanside, CA – The authorities have identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside late last month.
The County Medical Examiner's office identified the deceased pedestrian as 43-year-old Josiah Edward Baker.
The deadly collision happened at about 10:22 p.m. on September 25 in the 3000 block of Oceanside Boulevard.
According to the San Diego Police Department, Baker was walking in the roadway when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck.
The pickup truck fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
A passerby called 911, and responding paramedics declared Baker dead at the scene.
No additional information was provided.
The crash is under investigation.
