Joshua Moore, 42, of Springfield, died after losing control of his motorcycle on northbound Interstate 5; another rider escaped injury, police say.

Linn County, OR – One person was killed after two motorcycles collided on Interstate 5 in Albany late Saturday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2025, near milepost 234 on Interstate 5.
Investigators said a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Joshua Moore, 42, of Springfield, lost control while slowing for traffic and went down in the lane of travel. Another northbound Harley-Davidson, operated by Jan Hicks Sr., 60, of Eugene, was unable to avoid the downed rider and struck him.
Moore was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hicks was reportedly uninjured. No arrests were made in connection with the crash.
Traffic on 5 Freeway was affected for about an hour during the on-scene investigation. The Albany Fire Department and Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
