Redding, CA. – The Shasta County Coroner's Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a suspected drunk driver on Monday night in Redding.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened around 2 a.m. in the area of Canby Road and Pineland Drive.
Joshua Robert Berry, 33, was walking on the shoulder of the road when he was struck by a vehicle operated by 25-year-old Tabitha Wilkens of Redding.
The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.
Wilken drove away from the scene but was later stopped and found to be under the influence of alcohol.
She was arrested for vehicular manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
