San Bernardino, CA. – 60-year-old Jose Hugo Gonzalez has been identified as the semi-truck driver who died in a rollover collision Thursday morning on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino.
The wreck was reported around 1:55 a.m. October 2 on the southbound lanes of the freeway past the Orange Show Road exit.
Gonzalez allegedly lost control of his semi bottom dump double-trailer while approaching a small bend on the roadway and hit a concrete barrier on the right shoulder.
The truck, which was hauling gravel, overturned and struck a sign pole, then burst into flames.
Responding emergency crews put out the fire and pronounced Gonzalez dead at the scene.
Gonzalez's family has set up a fundraising campaign to help them raise funds for his funeral expenses.

San Bernardino, CA.- A driver was killed in a fiery big rig crash in San Bernardino early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck was reported at around 1:56 a.m. on Interstate 215 near Orange Show Road.
According to CHP, a semi-truck crashed and burst into flames on the southbound side of I-215.
The events leading up to the incident were still under investigation.
The driver, who was trapped in the burning vehicle, was killed in the incident.
A section of the interstate was shut down as crews cleared at the scene.
No further information on the accident was available.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
