Jorge Mejia Killed in Tucson Crash on 6th Avenue near 22nd Street
Tucson, AZ– A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Tucson last week on Wednesday, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The accident occurred in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue near 22nd Street on October 1.
According to TPD, Jorge Alberto Mejia, 52, was trying to cross 6th Avenue when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
The motorist drove off after hitting the pedestrian
Mejia was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police believe the suspect was driving a light-colored SUV.
The search for the hit-and-run driver is ongoing.
