The BPD reported that Muller was riding a bicycle south against traffic on Telegraph Avenue when he attempted to squeeze in between an oncoming pickup truck and the curb
Berkeley, CA.- The bicyclist who was killed in a vehicle crash near UC Berkeley on Saturday afternoon has been identified as John Edward Muller, 65, of Richmond, according to the Berkeley Police Department.
The crash was reported at about 3 p.m. November 15, on Telegraph Avenue.
The BPD reported that Muller was riding a bicycle south against traffic on Telegraph Avenue when he attempted to squeeze in between an oncoming pickup truck and the curb.
However, Muller fell onto the ground and was struck by the truck.
Medics performed CPR on Muller as he was being transported to Highland Hospital. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators .
The collision is under investigation.
