Rider Killed in Berkeley Bicycle Crash on Telegraph Avenue

Berkeley, CA.- A bicyclist was killed in a vehicle collision near UC Berkeley on Saturday afternoon, according to the Berkeley Police Department.

At around 3 p.m. November 15, authorities responded to reports of a crash in the area of Telegraph Avenue.

The BPD reported that a bicyclist was riding south against traffic on Telegraph Avenue when he tried to squeeze between an oncoming pickup truck and the curb.

The rider lost control, fell onto the ground, and was hit by the truck.

Medics performed CPR on the victim as he was being transported to Highland Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

No further details were immediately released.

The accident is under investigation.
