Buttonwillow, California (July 25, 2022) – Jesus Tejada Sanchez, 29, was injured in a deadly car accident in Buttonwillow on Saturday afternoon.

According to CHP, Sanchez was driving a Jeep Cherokee northbound on Shafter Avenue with Joanne Figueroa, 34, and two children aged 6 and 1, as his passengers.

The Cherokee was struck by a Dodge Ram that had been traveling east on Burbank Avenue and whose driver failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection.

The crash, which occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on July 23, caused the Dodge to strike a stop sign. The Jeep collided with an Almond tree and overtuned.

Sanchez and his passengers were taken to Kern Medical, where the one-year-old child was sadly pronounced deceased.
