San Diego, CA. – Jeremy Ponton, 34, has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office as the man who died in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night in Lakeside.
The accident happened on Winter Gardens Boulevard at Lemon Crest Drive at around 8 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Jeremy was riding a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R south on Winter Gardens Boulevard when he crashed into a 2013 Ford F-150 that backed out of a driveway.
The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to catch fire.
Jeremy, a resident of Alabama, was transported to UCSD Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
