Tucson, AZ. — Jennifer Nicole Hall, 41, was killed Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle while using an activated HAWK crossing in midtown Tucson, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. on East Speedway Boulevard at North Richey Boulevard, according to the Tucson Police Department.

Tucson police and fire crews responded to the scene, where Hall was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.

According to TPD, a GMC Terrain, driven by a 55-year-old driver, failed to yield while Hall was in the crosswalk. Hall was wearing a helmet, and the HAWK signal was solid red for traffic at the time.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

DUI Unit officers evaluated the driver and found no signs of impairment.

Detectives determined that failure to yield was the primary contributing factor in the collision.

No citations or charges have been issued.

An investigation is ongoing.
