Simi Valley, CA. – An 84-year-old man was critically injured Saturday afternoon in a bicycle crash in Simi Valley, authorities reported.
Police said the crash happened around 12:08 p.m. at the intersection of Sequoia Avenue and Darby Street.
The bicyclist, identified as James Nownes of Simi Valley, was riding an electric bike when he veered into the path of a northbound vehicle.
Emergency crews responded and transported Nownes to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Simi Valley Police Department is investigating the crash.
