Jacob Snelling Dies in DUI Car Accident at 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive in Coachella
Coachella, California (June 7, 2023) – The Riverside County Coroner has disclosed the identity of the 21-year-old man who was killed in a collision at an intersection in Coachella on Tuesday night.
The fatal collision was reported at around 8:14 p.m. at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The officers who responded to the incident found two vehicles at the accident scene.
Paramedics performed lifesaving measures on Jacob Snelling, but he succumbed to his injuries at the accident scene.
The driver of the second vehicle, Antonio Tellez Leon, 38, was unhurt. He reportedly displayed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. He faces multiple charges including operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, violation of probation, felony driving under the influence causing injury, and murder.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
