Irvine, CA – At least one person was hospitalized after a crash that took place on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Irvine on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the wreck took place in the area near Jeffrey Road at about 12:49 p.m. April 1.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a small Audi was involved in the accident with a large van that was towing a vehicle. The two crashed in the southbound side of the freeway under unclear circumstances.
Emergency crews assessed the involved parties at the scene. At least one person was injured but their condition was not specified and it’s unclear whether they were transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Lanes were shut down as authorities investigated and cleared the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area or find alternate routes.
Additional information on the accident were not immediately available and the CHP is still working to find out the circumstances of the crash.
